The Mission
I have done a quite a bit of travel for someone my age. Every backpacking trip I have taken I kept a daily detailed journal. While traveling I would talk to other independent travelers and tell them stories about things that have happened to me. I thought things like being held up by drug lords, escaping from nightclubs, getting robbed, fucking ninjas, and hurling myself off of tall buildings where all somewhat normal experiences for the “adventurous” independent traveler, I was clearly wrong.
My stories would make people’s jaw drop and sometimes inspire people to do things I had done. I have been strongly encouraged to write a book for years, that’s not my style. I’d rather blog where I can post new things, show media, interact with people and to be quite frank – there is no way in hell I’m going to write a book, let’s just be honest.
The Traveler’s Backpack (TB) is geared to the independent traveler (backpacker) who is interested in venturing off the beaten path more often than not. I have learned a ton of lessons the hard way and for every story I write I would like to add post that offers advice on how to have a similar experience without endangering your life or possibly ending up in a foreign prison.
Not every story or piece of advice on TB will be extreme, violent, or dangerous. The fact is most of my days abroad were like any other backpacker. There will be plenty of posts that are like other travel blogs you find on the internet, still with the backpacker in mind.
I like to write about things that are related to adrenaline, endorphins and adventure. Topics you will often read about are: adventure sports, sex, social scene, drugs, nightlife, travel fitness, budget tips, and many more.
So this is my blog, please enjoy it and feel free to contact me and post comments.
